Small vacuum pumps usually run dry. However, the larger units are oil lubricated for long life and reliability. All of the pumps that Thame supply are continuously rated and can be left running constantly.

It is usual to supply a pump slightly larger than required to allow for system expansion and the possibility of leaks in the vacuum fixture.

Thame systems also come with coolant separators and a manifold. A safety pressure switch is also incorporated for connection to an alarm or CNC control.
